Skat assists governments, donors and non-governmental organisations to develop strategies and policies.
Examples of Skat's services include:
- Skat played a major role in the development and subsequent revisions of SDC’s sector policy on water and sanitation.
- Skat helped GTZ to develop its strategy for information and knowledge management for its natural resource management programme in India.
Skat’s staff has been:
- elaborating a study for the establishment of a global support structure for know-how exchange and technology dissemination, the so-called “Renewable Energy Technology Exchange RETEX” with a specific focus on Mini- and Micro-Hydro Power (MHP)
- coordinating and advising the SwissEnergy Small Hydropower Programme and the Swiss Hydropower Research Program on behalf of BFE / SFOE
